For hundreds of years the thrill and prestige of being a racehorse owner has been out of reach for most!
In recent times there have been many new options to change that.
Unfortunately most are not a true representation of ownership, very poor value and are no more than money making schemes.
A major downside to owning a racehorse can be the cost of monthly training fees for poor prize money, with the risk of injury & being left with nothing after paying for the horse initially.
99.9% of owners do not show a profit.
We could not be further removed from some of these highly advertised celebrity endorsed money making schemes that can number 50,000 shares representing a 0.002% holding which is nonsense !
You do not own anything or have an equitable stake so essentially you are paying a subscription.
Some are quoted as stating you get a "chance to visit the racing yard" and are entered into a ballot to get an owners badge for which you often have a 1 in 6250 chance !
So what is the answer?
With bloodstock sales continuing to post record sales & profits.
This has not gone un-noticed by breeders and studs including ourselves.
But how do we offer an investment that gives unlimited interest and the chance to gain good financial reward.
The answer came to us whilst watching the brother of one of our mares win Group 1 races at Royal Ascot & York !
Everyone was as excited as if we owned him ourselves.
This is the same every time a sibling or offspring of a mare runs.
In fact we have far more racing to follow without the cost of training fees, vets bills etc for next to no prize money.
Our simple answer was to offer investment in breeding portfolios.
A one off payment will buy a share in a selected mare or group of mares as packaged.
Once you buy your share there is nothing more to pay and your share exists until the mare retires from the breeding program.
Most mares go onto the age of 18 and can have between 8-10 foals.
This is far longer than any racing career.
All costs for keep, breeding, vets etc are INCLUDED.
Should there be a short fall this is taken from the proceeds of sales from the foals & yearlings.
The balance is then divided between share holders.
This is done after the sales season has finished in the first week of December in time for Xmas.
It is not unreasonable to expect a return of between 5 & 15% on your investment in some cases this can be considerably more if the mare & her family are successful !
Becoming a shareholder will offer endless interest and opportunity but is a serious investment & should be treated the same as any other type of share investment.
There is very little to no risk as all mares are insured to protect shareholders money.
Several big studs are following our example but we feel we are leading the way and offer shareholders outstanding value, rewarding returns & plenty of action.
